The Rev.Henry F.Coffey;87;of Grant St.;Belle Vernon;died on Saturday;May 12;1973;at 3:50 p.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Jacksonville;Fla.on October 11;1885;son of the late Henry F.and Fannie Coffey. He had lived in Belle Vernon the past 22 years and is super anuated minister of the Pittsburgh Conference of Third Episcopal District of the AME Church. Mr.Coffey had served several churches in the Mon Valley and at present was associate pastor of Wayman AME Church;Monessen. He also belonged to Twin Lodge 67 F&AM;Pricedale;NAACP and Golden Age Assembly;both of Belle Vernon. He was chaplain of the 11th Masonic District and was past worthy patron of the Star of Bethlehem Chapter 34;Monessen. Surviving are his widow;Dorothy;three daughters;Mrs.Gladys Wyche of Colorado Springs;Colo.;Mrs.Fannie Bennett and Mrs.Ruby Peoples;both of Pittsburgh;three sons;Frederick O.Coffey and Henry T.Coffey III;both of Pittsburgh;and Emmett A.Coffey of Cedarsville;Ohio;one sister;Tillie Coffey of New york City;15 grandchildren;15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Draper Funeral Home;Monessen from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Monday and Tuesday. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.at Wayman AME Church with the Rev.Robert Dye;pastor;officiating and Presiding Elder G.W.Patterson giving the eulogy. Eastern Star services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m.and Masonic services will take place Tuesday at 8 p.m.;both at the funeral home. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
