Obituary

Helen Zolak Mochnaly, 86, of Webster Hill (Rostraver Township), died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at 1:10 a.m. in her home. Born Feb. 1, 1919, in Monessen, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Irene Chacho Zolak. A lifelong resident of Webster, Mrs. Mochnaly was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Donora. She was a homemaker and Democratic Committee woman for many years. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Joel and Valerie Mochnaly, of Paoli, Daniel and Sharon Mochnaly, of Belle Vernon, and Terry A. Mochnaly, of Webster, with whom she made her home, six grandchildren, Mary Ellen Mochnaly, of Paoli, Joel Thomas Mochnaly and wife Edie, of Phoenixville, Daniel N. Mochnaly, of Belle Vernon, Patrick Mochnaly, of California, and Christian Mochnaly and Natalie E. Rygelski, both of Belle Vernon, one great-granddaughter, Kerri Elizabeth Mochnaly, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Mochnaly Jr., on Dec. 12, 1991, two brothers, Charles and John Zolak, and a sister, Mary Bailey. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). Services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Igor Soroka, pastor of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Services to be conducted on Wednesday in the funeral home will include the Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026, at 7 p.m., Parastas Services, at 7:30 p.m., and the Belle Vernon Rotary Club, at 8 p.m. For those unable to attend, online condolences may be sent to the family at the funeral home's web site, http:// www.parzynskifuneralhome.com/
