Obituary

Helen R. Sivie, 88, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington. She was born July 29, 1913, in Monessen, a daughter of the late Wasyl and Maria Dobosh Sivie. Miss Sivie recently returned to the Mon Valley after residing in New York for 65 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of New York City and was retired from Gulf Oil Co., where she worked as a legal secretary. She also enjoyed traveling and was a worldwide traveler. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she is survived by a niece, Jan Bitonti of Belle Vernon, a nephew, John Youshock of Belle Vernon, and several nieces and nephews outside of the Mon Valley area. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers, John, Albert, Nick and Frank Sivie, and two sisters, Mary Kuchera and Ann Youshock. Visitation was held Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. Funeral services were held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. John R. Cindric V.F. Pastor of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, officiating. Interment took place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
