Helen R. Reed,89,of 511 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Saturday,Nov. 7,1998,in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township. Born Sept.16,1909,in Herminie,she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine Pennman Boyd. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and its Regulars Sunday School class. Mrs. Reed,who spent most of her adult life in Belle Vernon,was a former member and president of the Belle Vernon Woman's Club. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years,James Reed,on Sept. 17,1996;and three sisters, Ina Brown,Catherine Kelley and Grace Feeney. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law,James J. and Nancy Reed of Belle Vernon,one daughter and son-in-law,Frances Ann and Thomas Fee of Belle Vernon;one sister,Margaret Sabatini of Huntsville,Ala.;four grandchildren,Beth Linger,Catherine Fee,James Reed and Robert Reed;and five great-grandchildren,James Reed,Noah Reed,Matthew Puckey,Brian Linger and Nathaniel Linger. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.with the Rev. James C. Ramsey.pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
