Helen Marie Smoody; 45; of
Belle Vernon R. D. 2; died Monday;Sept.20;1976;at 4 a.m.in Mercy Hospital;Pittsburgh.
Miss Smoody was born in
Vestaburg on Aug. 19;1931 and
had been a resident of the
Belle Vernon area since 1935.
She was employed at the
Corning Glass Works in
Charleroi and had been on sick
leave since October of 1975.
She was a member of St.
Sebastian Catholic Church of
Belle Vernon. She was preceded in death
by two brothers; John Smoody
in 1936 and Frank Smoody in 1963.
Survivors include a
daughter; Lisa Marie Smoody;
at home; her parents; John
and Helen Nagy Smoody; with
whom she made her home in
Belle Vernon R. D. 2. and two
brothers; Alex Smoody of
Louisville; Ky. and Charles
William Smoody of Pricedale.
Friends will be received in
the Shelby D. Ferguson
Funeral Home in Belle Vernon
from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday;Sept.20; and
from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday;Sept.21. A Prayer service will be held Wednesday;Sept.22;at 9:30 a.m.;followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St.Sebastian Catholic Church of Belle Vernon at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson;funeral director in charge.
