Helen M. Gribben, 88, of Alexandria, Va., and formerly of Monessen, died on Monday, April 16, 1990, in Mt. Vernon Hospital. She was born on July 9,1902, in Monessen, a daughter of the late O.C. and Agnes Baker. Mrs. Gribben was preceded in death by a husband, Harry Clay Gribben in 1977; two sons, James in October 1986 and Robert in June 1986, and a halfbrother, Stewart Wild. She was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Monessen for many years, and along with her husband, co-owned Gribben's ladies clothing shop in Monessen for 30 years. Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Jean Gribben of Houston, Texas, and Mary Gribben of Alexandria, Va.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends and relatives will be received at the Belle Vernon Cemetery Chapel on Saturday, April 21 at 11 a.m. with Rev. George Gribben of Gambier, Ohio, officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the DeMaine Funeral Home of Alexandria,Va.
