Helen L. Theakston,84,of 514 Speer St.,Belle Vernon,died Saturday,May 8,1993,at 5 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born in Brownsville,Jan.7,1909,a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Toner Gingery. Mrs. Theakston was Presbyterian by faith. She had lived in the Belle Vernon area for over 60 years. She and her husband were the original owners of the Belle Vernon Dairy Queen,until their retirement many years ago. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,David Theakston,Nov. 9,1992;and a son, Jack C. Theakston,Jan.24,1989. Mrs. Theakston is survived by two daughters,Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Dolan and Joyce Theakston,both of Belle Vernon;seven grandchildren;and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral home Inc.,700 Broas Ave.,Belle Vernon,Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard C. Klein,pastor of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of the arrangements.
