Helen L.Provance of the Belle Vernon Apartments died Monday,April 18,1988,at 12:05 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 82. Born Sept.26,1905,in Monongahela,she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Kate DeWalt Addison. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon. A resident of the community since 1963,she moved to the borough from Monongahela,where she had worked as a Bell Telephone operator. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband,J.Paul Provance on Oct. 15,1964;one sister,Mabel Miller;and a brother,Herman Addison. Surviving are one son,Frank A. Provance of Pittsburgh;three daughters, Mrs. Jacqueline Pover of Monongahela,and JoAnn O'Neil and Nancy J. Provance,both of Belle Vernon;nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home,with Dr. Thomas St. Clair,pastor of the First United Methodist Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
