Helen Furtak Karbowsky of 201 Frederick St.;Belle Vernon;died at 8:05 a.m. Sunday;March 31;1985;in Westmoreland Hospital;Greensburg. She was 73. Mrs.Karbowsky was born June 15;1911;in Pricedale;a daughter of the late Daniel and Florence Chowanec Furtak. She was preceded in death by her husband;Joseph Karbowsky Sr.;on March 5;1968;by three sons;Daniel;Michael and Joseph Karbowsky Jr.;by a daughter;Florence;by two sisters;Ann Karbowsky and Mary Horchalk;and by a great-grandson;Edmund Schilling. A life-long resident of the Belle Vernon area;Mrs.Karbowsky was a member of the Christian Center Church;Belle Vernon. Surviving are a daughter;Dorothy Karbowsky of Belle Vernon (with whom she made her home);three sons;John and Walter E.Karbowsky;both of Belle Vernon;and William Karbowsky of Smithton;one sister;Mrs.Eva Rusyniak;of Belle vernon;15 grandchildren;17 great-grandchildren;and one great-great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home;with the Rev.John Derrico Jr.;pastor;Christian Center Church;Belle Vernon;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
