Helen K. Sivak; 88; of Monessen; died Sunday; Jan. 27; 2008. She was born in Monessen on March 19; 1919; a daughter of the late Vasil and Anna Chornak Krivyanik. She was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1937 graduate of Monessen High School. Mrs. Sivak was a former member of St. John the Divine Orthodox Church and its Ladies Guild in Monessen. She worked as a sewing machine operator at the former Brookvale Clothing Factory and had worked in the snack bar at the Rostraver Garden Ice Rink for many years. Mrs. Sivak enjoyed playing cards and belonged to several card clubs over the years. She is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law; G. David and Kathy Sivak; of Hempfield Township; John Sivak; of Reno; Nev.; and Myron Sivak; of Butler; her daughter; Mary Anne Sivak; with whom she made her home; a sister; Anna Williams; of Belle Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; George Sivak; in 1963; four brothers; George; John; Michael and William Krivyanik; and one sister; Mary Savage. Friends will be received Tuesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICES; 441 Reed Ave.; Monessen (724-684-8750). Services will be held Wednesday; Jan. 30; at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Very Rev. John Horosky officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A Parastas Service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
