Obituary

Helen Gregory, 88, of Belle Vernon, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, March 1, 2014, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late George and Catherine Cicsak Tadavich, she was born in Pricedale on June 1, 1925. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, she was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church of Monessen, loved dancing and cooking for her family, played bocce, was a member of the Outcast Bowling League and was an avid card player. She had been employed at the former Isaly's Store in Monessen and managed the snack bar in the former Grant's store in Belle Vernon. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Harry A. Gregory, two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert A. and Jeanine Gregory of Belle Vernon and Richard and Stacy Gregory of Rostraver Township, three grandchildren, Ian, Lauren and Addison Gregory, and one great-granddaughter, Paige Gregory. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Wassilchalk and Mary Davin. Friends will be received 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon,http://www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com, 724-929-5300. A blessing service will be in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday followed by the Office of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Monessen with Fr. Stephen Wahal as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A parish rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
