Helen F. Kreger,72, of Monessen,died Tuesday, March 31,1992,in Mercy Hospital,Pittsburgh,following a lengthy illness. Born July 13,1919,in Fort Hill,Somerset County,she was the daughter of the late R.R. and Myrtle Snyder Tressler. Mrs. Kreger was a Monessen resident since 1924,coming to the city from Connellsville. She was very active over the years in many civic affairs, including the former Civic Music Society. She was also active in the Girl Scouts of America, and had served as a leader. A Protestant by faith, she was a member of the First Baptist Church,Monesen. In addition,she was a member of the former Monessen Junior Women's Club. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Oliver J. Kreger,M.D.,in 1988,as well and many brothers and sisters. Surviving are one daughter, Karen Lee Kreger of Monroeville; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. and Linda Kreger of Hewitt,N.J.;one grandson,Brian Kreger; one brother,Melvin Tressler of Monessen and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen. Services will be conducted in the chapel of the funeral home Friday at 10:30 a.m.,with Pastor Scott Koeppen officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association. Arrangements are being handled by the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.
