Helen Daugherty Cain of Westmoreland Manor;Hempfield Township;formerly of Monessen;died Thursday;July 12;1984;at 8:50 a.m. in Hempfield Manor. She was 78. Born in Monessen on July 18;1905;she is the daughter of the late Marshall and Ella (Decker) Daugherty. She was preceded in death by her husband;Jesse L.Cain in 1964;son;Robert Cain in 1955;and daughter;Anna Lou Chowning in 1973. She was a former elementary school teacher in the Monessen school system and a member of the First Christian Church of Monessen. Surviving are three sons;James Cain of Belle Vernon R.D.5;John Cain of California;Pa.and Charles Cain of Monessen;two daughters;Mrs.James (Martha) Anderson of Tucson;Ariz.;and Mrs.James (Sarah) Bulger of Houston;Tex.;14 grandchildren;two great-grandchildren;and one brother;Marshall Daugherty of Valrico;Fla. Friends will be received at the Rhome Funeral Home;Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen;today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday;July 14;in the chapel of the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. with Rev.Conrad G.Auel Jr.;pastor of the First Christian Church;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Rhome Funeral Home;Inc.;is handling the arrangements.
