Obituary

elen Cowan Cernicky Weaver,77, of 220 Charles St.,Belle Vernon (Fairhope),died Wednesday, Feb. 28,1996,at 3:10 a.m. in Canonsburg General Hospital.  Born Aug. 18,1918,in Fairhope,she was a daughter of the late Dan and Agnes Carpavich Cowan. A lifelong resident of the Fairhope area,she had been a patient at South Hills Convalescent Center the past two years. Mrs. Weaver had owned and operated Cernicky's Rug Cleaning Company of Belle Vernon. She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law,William and Linda Cernicky of Belle Vernon; five gandchildren,Shawn,Tiffany Lee,Dennis and Derrick Cernicky and Denise Green; one great-granddaughter, Catlin Green; one brother,George Cowan of Perryopolis and one sister, Mrs. George (Agnes) Lucas of Finleyville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, David J. Cernicky in 1964 and by her second husband Leroy D. Weaver in 1978. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a Prayer service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m,followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,with the Rev. John R. Cindric,pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
