Obituary

Helen (Ella) Brindzak,94,of 114 Price St.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,Jan.27,1994,at 2:10 p.m. in Country Care Manor. She was born Nov.2,1899,in Arnold City,a daughter of the late John and Mary Surovchak. Mrs.Brindzak was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon. She was past president of the Slovak Presbyterian Union,Monessen Lodge 22. A Belle Vernon resident most of her life,she was preceded in death by her husband,George Brindzak,who died March 4,1972,two brothers,John and Michael Surovchak,and four sisters,Elizabeth Buchta,Mary Sholtis,Susan YaSenka and Anna Trussa. Survivors include two sons,Andrew Brindzak of Cherry Hill,N.J.,and George Brindzak Jr.of Charleroi,two daughters,Mrs.Robert T.(Helen) Githens of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Peter (Margaret) Kelly of Roscoe,one brother,Andrew Surovchak of Belle Vernon,one sister,Julia Bruegger of Canton,Ohio,five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday form 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home,Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.James Burton of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
