Obituary

Helen A. Andrachek, 84, of Rostraver Township, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, in Mon Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late Margaret and John Sobosle, she was born in Pricedale (Rostraver Township) on April 28, 1934. Helen was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Monessen and the Ladies Guild of the church, the Corning Retirees and the Janet Ray Circle in Roscoe. She lived most of her adult life in Rostraver Township. Helen retired from Corning Glass Works and enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband after retirement. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, John Andrachek, one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Evans Andrachek, of Michigan, three daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Walter Dinsick, of Virginia, Patricia 'Peppy' and Terry Chambers, of Washington, and Pauline and Jack Bosko, of New Hampshire, one brother, Andrew Sobosole, of Texas, two sisters, Julia Swietzer, of Nevada, and Mary Horvat, of New York, and seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret 'Susie' Dempsey, in 2004, three brothers, Steven, Joseph and John Syabosol, and one sister, Theresa Young. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-5300), www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com. A Parastas service will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A Panachida service will take place Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen Wahal officiating. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
