Hazel V. Makovsky; 80; of Gillespie; Fayette City R.D.; died at her home the morning of Monday; Dec. 24; 2001; after a lengthy illness. She was born July 28; 1921; in Franklin; Md.; the daughter of the late Jess Mann and Alice Wilson. Hazel was a member of the St. Joseph Polish National Catholic Church; Fairhope; Belle Vernon. Surviving is her loving husband of 60 years; Leo A. Makovsky and children; Leo E. Makovsky and wife Pat of Fayette City R.D.; Gary B. Makovsky and wife Charmel of Rostraver Township; and Bernadette Planey and husband Robert of Mt. Joy. Also surviving are two brothers; Jessie Mann of Ellsworth and Ray Sutherland of Hopwood; and one sister; Helen Pizzolo of Lancaster. Hazel and Leo Makovsky had five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC.; 334 Main Street; Fayette City; on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. There will be a blessing service on Thursday; Dec. 27; at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Felix Pyzowski officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
