Obituary

Hazel M.Nichol of 424 Graham St.,Belle Vernon,died Monday,April 18,1988,at 1:10 a.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 57. Born Jan.27,1931,in Dickerson Run,she was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Edith Shipley. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon. She had lived in Belle Vernon since 1956,having moved into the borough from Charleroi,and was employed as a custodian in the Marion Elementary School in the Belle Vernon Area School District for the past 14 years.She was a member of Teamsters Local Union 872. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister,Margaret Kruppa. Surviving are her husband,Stephen S.Nichol Jr.,three sons,Stephen R.Nichol of Durham,N.C.,Jeffrey S.Nichol of Raleigh,N.C.,and Mark A.Nichol of Bowie,Md.,two daughters,Mrs.Robert (Donna) Corey of Lexington,Ky.and Mrs.Charles (Barbara) Dusick Jr.of Bowie,Md.,two brothers,Jack Shipley of Washington,Pa.and Donald Shipley of Roscoe,three sisters,Geraldine Boscan of Roscoe,Gertrude Gregg of Coal Center and Ruth Zapach of Star Junction,four grandchildren,Brandy and Krystal Nichol and Thomas and Erik Corey,and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m.and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home,with the Rev.Charles LaPlaca of the First Presbyterian Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
