Hazel Long,81,of Smithton,died Sunday, July 17,1988,at 6:30 a.m. in the Morgan Personal Care Home,Fayette City,following a lengthy illness. She was born Dec. 24,1906,in Bolivar,a daughter of the late Matthew and Wilhemina Radek. She was Protestant by faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband,Samuel Long,in July,1939. Surviving are two sons, Herman Long of Smithton and John Long of Belle Vernon;one daughter,Mrs. Martha Trew of Texas;eight grandchildren;six great-grandchildren;and two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Bodnar of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Martha Paige of Jamestown, N.Y. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday until 11 a.m.when services will be held in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,with Rev. John Derrico Jr.,pastor of the Christian Center in Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home.
