Mrs.Hazel Eland of 416 Perry Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Tuesday;June 4;1985;at 11:05 a.m. in Jefferson Hills Manor Inc.;Clairton;following a short illness. She was 81. Born in Austria-Hungary;Sept.28;1903;she was a daughter of the late Paul and Mary Butsman Hegedus. Mrs.Eland was a member of St.Mary’s Byzantine Rite Catholic Church of Monessen. In addition to her parents;whe was preceded in death by her husband;James Eland in 1963;a daughter;Hannah May Hazelbaker in 1981;two brothers;Paul and Louis Hegedus and a sister;Helen Pokol on 1985. Surviving are a son;James Eland Jr.of Dallas;Texas;three daughters;Mrs.Frances Warhurst of Edison;N.J.;Mrs.Hazel Catalano of Fairhope (Belle Vernon) and Mrs.James Sethman of Donora;16 grandchildren;eight great-grandchildren;two sisters;Mrs.Bertha Astle of Michigan and Mrs.George (Irene) Dohanich of Fairhope. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. with Monsignor Andrew Parvensky;pastor of St.Mary’s Byzantine Rite Catholic Church of Monessen officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
