Mrs.Hattie Lemon;66;of 927 Henry St.;Belle Vernon;died Monday;June 5;1967;at 4:55 a.m.in Brownsville General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Manning;S.C.;July 16;1900;she came to Belle Vernon in 1929. Mrs.Lemon was a member of Antioch Baptist Church;Belle Vernon;where she served as president of Pastor’s Aid and belonged to the Missionaries;Usher Board and was a Mother of the Church. Surviving are her husband;Douglas;four sons;Matthew of Pricedale;John and George at home;Master Sgt.Jerome of Fort Bragg;N.C.;a daughter;Mrs.Lena Payne of Pittsburgh;two sisters;Mrs.Dora Pearson of Sumter;S.C.;Mrs.Vinnie Gibson of Manning;S.C.;ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home;Monessen;from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.beginning June 6. The body will be taken to Antioch Baptist Church in Belle Vernon at 2 p.m.Wednesday;June 7;to lie in state until service there Thursday;June 8;at 11 a.m. The Rev.A.C.Morris;pastor;assisted by the Rev.William Barrax of Mt.Pleasant;will officiate.
