Obituary

Harry M.Nutting,71,of North Charleroi,died Monday,Oct.9,1989,at 4:45 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Nov.15,1917,in Charleroi,a son of the late Mathias and Sarah Huber Nutting. He was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II,having served with the Third Armour Division. He was a member of St.Jerome Roman Catholic Church in Charleroi. He was a member and past commander of VFW Post 167 in Charleroi,and was a member of American Legion Post 22,the Elks Lodge 494,the Charleroi Sportsman's Club,the Corning Retirees Association and the Slovak Club of North Charleroi. He was a retired worker of the Corning Glass,Charleroi plant. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his first wife,Simone,one brother Joseph Nutting and one sister,Shirley Karlosky. Survivors include his wife,Bernice Norkus Weibl Nutting,two step-daughters,Mrs.Norman (Katherine) Koch of Forest Hills and Mrs.Edward (Joan) Caban of Las Vegas,Nev.and four step-grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Carl J,Spallino Funeral Home,819 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m.in St.Jerome Roman Catholic Church,Charleroi,with Fr.John Marcucci,pastor,as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A VFW service will be held Wednesday at 7:15 p.m.in the funeral home and an American Legion service will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home. The Carl J.Spallino Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
