Harry Lahti of Fairhope;Belle Vernon;died Monday;July 29;1985;at 6:05 p.m. in Jefferson Center Hospital of the South Hills Health System;following a lengthy illness. Mr.Lahti was 65. Born in Washington Township;Fayette County;Feb.20;1920;he was a son of the late John and Emma Hammer Lahti. Mr.Lahti served with the U.S.Navy during World War II. He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.;Monessen plant. Surviving are his wife;Carmilla Baumgardner Lahti;three sons;Harry E.Lahti of Fayette City R.D.1;John Lahti of Fairhope;Belle Vernon;and Robert Lahti of Houston;Tex.;two daughters;Mrs.Carl (Kathleen) Kobosky of Belle Vernon R.D.and Mrs.Ronald (Patricia) Farquhar of Grindstone;nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild;two brothers;Eugene Lahti of Long Island;N.Y. and David Lahti of Arnold City;Belle Vernon;two sisters;Mrs.Hilda Davis of Long Island and Mrs.Betty Seacord;Albany;Ga. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;where services will be held Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. with Rev.Mary Howard;pastor of the Marion United Presbyterian Church of Fairhope;officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers;the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Arthritic Foundation of the charity of one’s choice. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
