Obituary

Harry Lahti of Fairhope,Belle Vernon,died Monday,July 29,1985,at 6:05 p.m. in Jefferson Center Hospital of the South Hills Health System,following a lengthy illness. Mr.Lahti was 65. Born in Washington Township,Fayette County,Feb.20,1920,he was a son of the late John and Emma Hammer Lahti. Mr.Lahti served with the U.S.Navy during World War II. He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,Monessen plant. Surviving are his wife,Carmilla Baumgardner Lahti,three sons,Harry E.Lahti of Fayette City R.D.1,John Lahti of Fairhope,Belle Vernon,and Robert Lahti of Houston,Tex.,two daughters,Mrs.Carl (Kathleen) Kobosky of Belle Vernon R.D.and Mrs.Ronald (Patricia) Farquhar of Grindstone,nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild,two brothers,Eugene Lahti of Long Island,N.Y. and David Lahti of Arnold City,Belle Vernon,two sisters,Mrs.Hilda Davis of Long Island and Mrs.Betty Seacord,Albany,Ga. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,where services will be held Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. with Rev.Mary Howard,pastor of the Marion United Presbyterian Church of Fairhope,officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers,the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Arthritic Foundation of the charity of one's choice. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
