Death at an early hour Wednesday morning,November 24,1926 removed one of Monessen's pioneer residents,when Mr. H.J. Williams passed away at his home,1049 Knox avenue. Deceased has been ill for the past year under the care of specialists and he spent sometime in hospitals,but his condition failed to respond to treatments and he continued to grow steadily worse until the end came. Mr. Williams has been a resident of Monessen for the past 26 years,coming here from Adrian,Mich.,when the Page Steel and Wire mill was started. After serving nine years at the Page plant,he waselected as superintendent of janitors in the Monessen public schools,which position he has held for the past 18 years. He was born in Carnarvon,Wales in 1869. Surviving are his wife,two sisters,two brothers,three sons,five daughters and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Baptist Church,where the family holds membership. The services will be in charge of Rev. C.B.Jones. Interment will be made in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
