Obituary

Services will be held Tuesday for Harry Hackenson Jr.,66,of 112 Wood St.,Belle Vernon,who died Friday night at 9 p.m.at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh after a short illness. Mr.Hackenson was born Jan.1,1913,at Frank,Pa.,a son of the late Harry and Elvina Whiteman Hackenson Sr. A lifetime resident of Belle Vernon,he had been employed at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp,coke plant,retiring in 1975 as a turn foreman. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and Belle Vernon Masonic Lodge 643 of which he was a past master. He is survived by his wife,Mrs.Ann Konecheck Hackenson,a son,Thomas Hackenson,a daughter,Ruth Ann,three sisters,Mrs.Harry (Thelma) Schmidt of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Mary Momyer of Parma,Ohio,and Miss Violet Hackenson of Morgantown,W.Va.,three brothers,Lee Hackenson and Elmer Hackenson of Belle Vernon and Jack Hackenson of Marietta,Ohio,and four grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,with Dr.Elmer C.Lewis of Fayette City officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Services by Masonic Lodge 643 will be held tonight at 7:30 at the funeral home. The family requests material tributes may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
