Harry H. Godfrey,16 Carson St.,Speers,died Thursday,Aug. 13,1981,at 9 a.m. in the South Hills Convalescent Home. He was 83. Born May 8,1898 in Monongahela,he was the son of the late Benjamin and Winifred Devine Godfrey. He had been a Speers resident for over 50 years. Mr. Godfrey retired in 1964 as a millwright at the former U.S. Steel,Donora Works. Survivors include his widow,Edna Griffith Godfrey;a son,James N.Godfrey of Newark,Ohio;two daughters,Mrs. Joseph (Shirley) Tamargo of Carroll Twp.and Mrs. William (Nelda) Hickman of Belle Vernon;a brother,Charles Godfrey of Claysville;five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert C. Griffey,a retired Methodist minister in the Western Pennsylvania Conference,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
