Harry E. Malone Jr.; 81; of Monessen; died Monday; Sept. 8; 2008; in Mountainview Specialty Care Center; Unity Township. He was born in Monessen on June 5; 1927; a son of the late Harry E. Sr. and Helen Isenberg Malone. Harry was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1945 graduate of Monessen High School. He was a member of First Christian Church and the Mon Valley Chordsmen. Mr. Malone retired from the Monessen Southwestern Railroad as a supervisor. He served his country during World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS AWS Benson and USS Gainard. He is survived by his son and daughter-in- law; Bruce D. and Elizabeth Malone; of Rostraver Township; his daughter and son-in-law; Colleen and Michael Rogers; of Catlettsburg; Ky.; two grandsons; Jimmy Lee and John Rogers; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Loretta Walters Malone; and his brother; Howard Malone. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICES; 441 Reed Ave.; Monessen (724-684-8750). Services will be held Friday; Sept. 12; at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Conrad Auel officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
