Obituary

Harry C.Sethman Sr.,82,of 111 Elks Place,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,March 6,1975,at 6 a.m.in Brownsville General Hospital. Mr.Sethman was born in Jacobs Creek on Nov.8,1892 and had lived in the Belle Vernon area for more than 50 years. He retired in 1956 from the Somers Mine of Pittsburgh Coal Co.,Pricedale. He was a member of the Pricedale Union Church. Surviving are his widow,Elizabeth Jane Turnbull Sethmen,three sons,Richard T.and Harry C.Jr.,both of Belle Vernon,and Howard A.of South Gate,Calif.,seven daughters,Mrs.John (Margaret) Carr,Mrs.William (Ethel) Venneri,Mrs.Mark (Hannah) Bennett,Mrs.Thomas (Norma Jean) Seibert and Mrs.Florence Weaver,all of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Edwin (Dorothy) Rainey of Denbo and Mrs.George (Martha) Warner of Springfield,Ohio,four sisters,Mrs.Verne Packy of New Stanton,Mrs.Lillian Olmer of Amburst,Ohio,Mrs.Mary VanDyke of Youngwood and Mrs.Margaret Raul of New York,two brothers,Robert Sethamn of Belle Vernon and William Sethman of New York,28 grandchildren,and 54 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon from 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Friday. Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m.at the funeral home with the Rev.Howard Rodebaugh of Pricedale Union Church officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
