One of the district’s oldest residents;Mrs.Harriet (Haddie) Josephine Greene;96;died Friday April 4;1958;at 1:30 at her home;439 Market St.;Belle Vernon. She had been ill for six years. Born in Millsboro;March 4;1862;she was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Belle Vernon and a member of the Bible Class of the Sunday School department of the Church. Mrs.Greene had resided in Belle Vernon for over 70 years. Survivors include two sons;the Rev.John Greene;Homer City and Harry Greene;Belle Vernon;five daughters;Mrs.Lucretia Kuhn;Mrs.Deno Carini and Mrs.Albert Price;all of Belle Vernon;Ethel Greene at home and Mrs.William Fisher;North Charleroi;35 grandchildren;65 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;after 7 p.m. April 5. Funeral home visiting hours are from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Services will be held from the funeral home Monday;April 7;at 2 p.m.with the Rev.Clair H.Hess;pastor of the Free Methodist Church;Belle Vernon officiating.
