Obituary

An employee of the gate shop of the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh steel Co.,Harold W. Shepler,55,of 132 Pennsylvania Blvd.,Monessen,was dead on arrival at Charleroi-Monessen Hospital Monday, Oct. 25,1965 at 10:30 a.m.  Mr. Shepler took sick while at work.  He was emplyed at Pittsburgh Steel Co. for 34 years. Born in Monessen, he was the son of thel late LLoyd and Agnes McLuckie Shepler.  He attended the Monessen schools. Mr. Shepler was a member of the First Methodist Church and B.P.O. Elks No, 773,both of Monessen.  He served with the Unites States Navy during World War II. Surviving are his widow, Alice Smallwood Shepler; three sons, Lloyd W. of Monessen, John C. (Jack) of Fairhope and William A.,a United States Airman Second Class at England Air Force Base in Lousiana and five grandchildren. Friends will be received at the H. Denver Rhome Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Tuesday. Service there Thursday,Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  H. Denver Rhome,funeral director.
