Harold (Monk) Williams of
424 Henry St.; Belle Vernon;
died at 10:20 a m in
Charleroi Division of Mon
Valley Hospital. He was 72.
He was born Oct 18; 1905 in
Martins Ferry; Ohio; a son of
the late William and Mary
Jane Davies Williams.
Mr. Williams was a lifelong
resident of the Belle Vernon
community and was a
member of the First Christian
Church Belle Vernon.
He retired in 1970 as a
craneman for the Electrical
department of Wheeling
Pittsburgh Steel Corp’s
Allenport Plant.
Mr. Williams was past fire
chief and life member of the
North Belle Vernon Volunteer
Fire Department. He was a
member of the fire department for the past 50 years.
He also was a member of the
Southwestern Pennsylvania
Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs
Association and the Westmoreland County Firemens
Association.
Survivors include his
widow; Nellie Dudgeon
Williams; one daughter ;Mrs
John R (Sally) Stark of Belle
Vernon; one grandson; John
S.Stark and one great-grandson
Jason Stark; both of Belle
Vernon.
A sister; Mrs. Mamie
DeiCas; preceded him in
death.
Friends will be received in
the Leonard J. Parzynski
Funeral Home 626 Broad
Ave; Belle Vernon from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p m Friday and
Saturday. There will be no visitation on Sunday;Christmas Day. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home with Rev.John Bowers of the First Christian Church;Belle Vernon officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
