Grover W.Smock;76;of 801 Rostraver St.;Monessen;died in West Penn Hospital;Pittsburgh;at 3:30 p.m.Tuesday Aug.11;1964;after a long illness. Born in Shepler Hill;he had been a resident of the Valley all his life. He was employed near Elizabeth until four years ago when he retired and came to Monessen. Preceding him in death was his wife;Ami Osborne Smock;who died 43 years ago. He was a member of the Christian Church of Monessen. Surviving are his sister;Mrs.Hulda Gates of Monessen;with whom he had made his home;one brother;Russell of Monessen;several nephews. Friends are being received at the H.Denver Rhome Funeral Home in Monessen where a service will take place Friday;Aug.14;at 10:30 a.m.in charge of the Rev.Glenn Burrows;pastor of the First Presbyterian Church;Monessen.
