Gretchen G.Lindey of Brownstown;Fayette City R.D.1;died Tuesday;March 9;1982; at 7:15 a.m.in the Mon Valley hospital following a lengthy illness.  She was 64.  Mrs.Lindey was born May 24;1917 in Smithdale;Pa.;a daughter of the late John Lewis and Alverta Gibson Knight.  She was Protestant by faith.  Mrs.Lindey was retired from Corning Glass Works;Charleroi Plant.  Survivors include her husband;Lewis Lindey;three sons;John of Belle Vernon R.D.;William of Orlando;Fla.and Larry of Miami;Fla.;10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren;and three sisters;Mrs.Naomi Novak of Glassport;Mrs.Twyla Bowers of Elizabeth R.D.1 and Mrs.Bernice Shelley of Daisytown R.D.  Friends are being received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.;Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday until 1:30 p.m.when services will be held at the funeral home with the Rev.George McNeel;pastor of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Brownstown;Fayette City;in charge.  Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
