Gloria H. Holmes Sterner; 75; of Belle Vernon; died Monday; April 21; 2003; at 12:24 p.m. in Uniontown Hospital. She was born Aug. 28; 1927; in Monessen; a daughter of the late Gilbert L. and Martha H. Tobin Holmes. Mrs. Sterner was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon community and was Protestant by faith. Survivors include her husband; Melvin L. Sterner; one son; Gilbert L. Sterner of South Park; two daughters and one son-in-law; Susan E. Keyock of Elizabeth and Janet L. and David Barcus of Dunlevy; three sisters and one brother-in-law; Eloise Chitester of Monongahela; Elaine Shambaugh of Monessen; and Norma Jean and Oliver Niemela of New Providence; N.J.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by two brothers; Robert C. and George E. Holmes; and one sister; Pearl A. Holmes; who died in infancy.
