G.Lester Majors of 429 Jones St.;Belle Vernon;died Thursday;Sept.18;1980;at 9:30 p.m. in Jefferson Medical Center. He was 74. Mr.Majors was born June 24;1906;in Charleroi;a son of the late John and Cora Small Majors. He retired in 1973 from the Page Plant of American Chain & Cable Co.;Monessen;and had been a resident of Belle Vernon the past 34 years. Mr.Majors was a member of the First Presbyterian Church;Belle Vernon;and the Mon Valley Association of Retired Steelworkers (MARS). He was a former treasurer of the MARS Bowling League. Survivors include his wife;Jeanne Allan Majors;at home;a son;John Majors;of Bethel Park;a daughter;Mrs.Corless Bethem;of Belle Vernon;RD 3;and a granddaughter;Jill Bethem. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 12 noon to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Charles LaPlaca;pastor;First Presbyterian Church;Belle Vernon;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
