Glenn easton Patterson;83;a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area;died Sunday;Sept.27;1998;in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. Born April 23;1915;in Pricedale;he was a son of the late Offie and Agnes Easton Patterson. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon where he served two terms as an elder. He was also a member of the Presbyterian Men’s Association. Mr.Patterson was a board member of the Belle Vernon Cemetery Association;serving as secretary. He worked for over 50 years at the Melenyzer Furniture Store where he rose to the position of manager. During World War II;Mr.Patterson was a master sergeant in the ordinance department in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Survivors include his wife of 58 years;Elnor Washabaugh Patterson;a son and daughter-in-law;Wayne E.and Barbara Gluvna Patterson of Pleasant Hills;one granddaughter;Meghan Elizabeth Patterson of Pleasant Hills; one sister;Mrs.Samuel (Betty) Scaccia of Belle Vernon;and several nieces and nephews. In addtion to his parents;he was preceded in death by five brothers;Tom;Lloyd;Warren;James and Floyd Patterson. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.in First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon with the Rev.James Ramsey;pastor;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
