Obituary

Glenn A. Chew Sr.,Daugherty Lane,Belle Vernon,died Friday,July 15,1983,at 7:45 p.m.in Allegheny General Hospital during surgery. He was 60. Mr.Chew was born in North Charleroi on Aug.8,1922,a son of the late Frank D.and Lottie Hough Chew. He had resided in Monessen prior to moving to Rostraver Twp.20 years ago. He was employed as a staff representative for the United Steel Workers of America in Pittsburgh and was formerly employed at the Page Steel and Wire Co. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Monessen, the F&AM Lodge 638 of Monessen, the Syria Temple Shrine, the Valley Consistory in Pittsburgh and the Mon Valley Caravan No. 17 of Charleroi. He was a past member of Junior Order of Mechanics In Charleroi, Monessen Lions and the Raven A.A. In Monessen. He was a veteran of World War II, having served In the U.S. Army. He was also a member of the American Legion In Charleroi. Survivors Include his wife, Shirley Bloyer Chew, a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Janet) Rotolo of Belle Vernon: a son, Glenn A. Chew Jr. of Houston, Tex., two grandchildren, Carissa and Richard Lee Rotolo of Belle Vernon, a sister, Mrs. Buddy (June) Hixonbaugh of Stockdale, and a brother, Frank Chew of Lock Four. Friends will be received at the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.. 1209 Grand Blvd.. Monessen, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m.in the funeral home with the Rev.Conrad Auel,Pastor of First Christian Church,Monessen. Burial in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home Inc.is handling the arrangements.
