Obituary

Gladys M.Turek,79,of Edinburg,Pa.,formerly of Gillespie,Fayette City R.D.1,died suddenly at 11 p.m.Tuesday,July 23,1991,in Jameson Hospital,New Castle. Mrs.Turek was born Feb.1,1912,in Washington Township,Fayette County,a daughter of the late Albert Clifford and Flora Ella Scanlon Hall. She was a member of the First Christian Church,Fayette City,and has sung in the church choir for years. Mrs.Turek was a graduate of Marion High School in Fairhope,Belle Vernon. In addition to her parents,she was also preceded in death by her husband,Mike Turek,in 1970. Also deceased are four brothers,Edgar Hall,Clifford Hall,Russell Hall and Howard Hall,four sisters,Ethel Hall,Violet Hall,Wanda Hall and Martha Wright,and two grandsons,Jeffrey Kennedy,who died in 1977,and Richard Bryner,who died in 1991. Surviving are two sons,Damon Turek of Beaver Falls and Robert Turek of Brandon,Fla.,two daughters,Mrs.David (Elissia) Snyder of Edinburg,Pa.,and Mrs.Richard (Diann) Bryner of Los Cruces,N.M.,six grandchildren,three great-grandchildren,and two sisters,Roberta Gillespie of Dunnellon,Fla.,and Irene Fay of Girard,Ohio. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Eley Funeral Home,Inc.,Cemetery Road,Perryopolis R.D.1. The remains will lie in state at the First Christian Church,Fayette City,on Friday from noon to 1 p.m.,the hour of services in the church with the Rev.Wayne Boring,pastor,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Eley Funeral Home,Inc.,is in charge of arrangements.
