Gertrude Skekel Tretter,59,of 926 Hill St.,Belle Vernon,died Friday,Aug. 31,1990,at 4:15 a.m. in Jefferson Hills Manor. She was born March 15,1931,in Monessen, a daughter of the alte Alex Skekel and Sally Nyrhinen Skekel,who survives and resides in Monessen. Mrs. Skekel had lived in Belle Vernon for the past 28 years and was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. In addition to her mother,she is survived by her husband,Joseph Tretter;two sons, Joseph M. Tretter and his wife,Christi of New Eagle and Deano A. Tretter of Chicago,Ill.;a brother,Jack Skekel of Monessen;a sister,Mrs. John (Judith) Parks of South Park;and a grandson,Joseph M. Tretter II. Friends will be received at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Blessing service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
