Mrs. George B. Nickel,aged 44 years, wife of Dr. George E. Nickel,one of Belle Vernon's physicians died Friday afternoon,June 26,1914, at 3 o'clock at the Presbyterian hospital of peritonitis, where she underwent an operation for appendicitis. Her sudden and unexpected death comes to the community and her host of friends as a severe shock, as her condition up until the operation was not thought to be serious. Mrs. Nickel was taken ill last Monday and was taken to the hospital Tuesday. She is survived by her husband and daughter, Miss Edith Nickel,of Belle Vernon. The funeral services will be held from the late home on Main street,in Belle Vernon,Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
