Gertrude Irene Johnson;60;of 642 Knox Ave.;Monessen;died Wednesday;July 28;1999;at 2 a.m.in her residence. Born June 13;1939;in Mt.Pleasant;she was a daughter of the late Fitzure and Eva Wilson Williams. Mrs.Johnson was a home health nurse;having most recently worked at Hallsworth House in North Charleroi. She had been a resident of Monessen for over 25 years;having previously lived in Mt.Pleasant. She was a member of Mt.Clavary Baptist Church of Monessen;where she served as pianist and director of several gospel singing groups. Survivors include her husband;Edward Johnson;three sons;Darnell Williams;Edward Lantz;Jr.;and Kirk Lantz;two daughters;Terri Lynn Lantz Baldwin and Teresa Lantz Brown;all of Mt.Pleasant;her brothers;Robert Williams of Norristown;William Williams of Mt.Pleasant;Richard Williams of Norristown;and Larry Williams of Stockton;Calif.;sisters Edna Melvin of Cardale;Pa.;Ruth Williams of Uniontown;Shirley Rogers of Mt.Pleasant;Carol Williams of Corpus Christi;Texas;Patricia Hobson of Mt.Pleasant and Beverly Williams of Mt.Pleasant;seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by a brother;Charles Williams. She is also survived by nieces;nephews;cousins and friends. Friends will be received at the Mt.Calvary Baptist Church;Reed Avenue;Monessen;Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the church Saturday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Griffin E.Mason officiating.
