Gerald J. Kossar; 68; of Adams Township; Mars; died unexpectedly Friday afternoon; Nov. 18; 2011; at his home; of natural causes. Born in North Charleroi; Jan. 17; 1943; he was a son of the late Joseph and Rose Telleck Kossar. He was a retired school teacher from the Pine Richland School District; where he taught high school math. He then worked as a substitute teacher for the Mars School District. He was a social member of the Mars VFW Post 7505. Surviving are his wife; Olena Anatolievna Kossar; whom he married on Aug. 1; 2007; a stepson; Maksyn Kyrychenko; of Mars; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the McDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME INC.; 238 Crowe Ave.; Mars.
