George W. (Huffie) Hoffman of Bellr Vernon R.D.2 died suddenly Thursday Feb. 8,1979 at 12:18 p.m. in the Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Twp. He was 71. Born June 12,1907 in Fairhope, he was the son of the late George B. and Lydia Guiler Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman had been employed at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel,Allenport Plant No. 3 Hot Mill. He retired in 1972. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Charleroi and the F&AM Lodge No. 643,Belle Vernon. Mr. Hoffman is survived by his widow, LaVene Kenzler Hoffman; one daughter, Mrs. Joseph T. (Faith) Walker of Charlerori,R.D.2;one sister,Mrs. Vera Schmidt of Belle Vernon and two granddaughters,Colleen and Arienne Walker. Friends will be received in the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home Monday,at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Frank A. Bodnar,pastor of the First Methodist Church of Charleroi officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
