George Patterson;51;of 412 Pearl St.;Monessen;died Thursday;Feb.24;1972;at 1:50 p.m. in Veterans Hospital;Pittsburgh. Born Feb.21;1921;in Cleveland;Ohio;he was the son of the late Jake and Lenora Catlin Patterson. He was employed as a chipper in the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.Mr.Patterson was a former member of Wayman A.M.E.Church;Monessen;and a member of Monongahela Valley Lodge 208;IBPOE of W;Donora;of which he was a former trustee. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his widow;Mrs.Willa Mae Patterson;a step-son;Gerald Thomas of Monessen;two brothers;John Patterson of New York and Jake Patterson of Washington;D.C.;and five step-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Percy E.Law Jr.Funeral Home;1324 Meldon Ave.;Donora;after 7 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held Monday;Feb.28;1972;at 11 a.m. in Wayman A.M.E.Church;Monessen;with the Rev.Robert Dye;pastor;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
