Obituary

George W.Kistler Sr.,of 513 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,died Wednesday,March 27,1985,at 1:54 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 92. Born in Elizabeth,July 17,1892,he was a son of the late George B.and Mary Woolslayer Kistler. Mr.Kistler was a resident of the Belle Vernon area for most of his life. He was a member of First Christian Church of Fallowfield Township and was a board member of the Golden Agers Club of Charleroi. Mr.Kistler retired as an employee of the former Monongahela Division of Mon Valley Hospital. In addition to his parents,Mr.Kistler was preceded in death by a sister,Laura Malady. Surviving are two sons,George Kistler Jr.of Charleroi and James Kistler of Coal Center,four daughters,Mrs.Paul(Laura) Boyce,Mrs.Jack (Mabel) Lessman and Mrs.Joseph (Evelyn) Federer,all of Charleroi and Mrs.Thomas (Wilma) Scullion of Fayette City,21 grandchildren,21 great-grandchildren,one nephew,J.Francis Malady,two nieces,Cynthia Bower and Ruth Natali and seven great-nieces and nephews. Friends are being received on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Carl J.Spallino Funeral Home,819 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,where funeral services will be held Saturday,March 30,at 11 a.m. with Rev.Jack Brownlee,pastor of the First Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Carl J.Spallino Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
