Obituary

George W.Kefover of Perryopolis R.D.2,died Friday,Sept.6,1985,in the Waddington Convalescent Home,Fayette City. He was 86. Mr.Kefover was born July 19,1899,in Brownsville,a son of the late Ewing and Sarah A.Herrington Kefover. He was a veteran of World War I,having served with Company A.,110th Infantry. Mr.Kefover retired from the West Penn Power Company in 1964. He was a member of Belle Vernon Lodge 643 F&AM,Valley of Uniontown Lodge,Valley of Pittsburgh Consistory,NRA,Belle Vernon American Legion and Monongahela VFW. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife,Gladys,and by three brothers,Lawrence,Harry and Frank Kefover. Survivors include a son,Richard W.Kefover of Perryopolis R.D.2,two daughters,Frances Locy of Monongahela and Sharon Berletich of Donora,two stepdaughters,June Kefover of Perryopolis R.D.2 and Diane Marraccini of Sterling,Va.,one brother,Dave Kefover of Carmichaels R.D.,one sister,Annie Hergel of Elizabeth R.D.4,six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the James C.Stump Funeral Home,Inc.,Sweeney Plan,Rostraver Township,where services will be held Monday,Sept.9,at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Charles Colas officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The James C.Stump Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
