Obituary

George W. Albright,one of the pioneer residents of Monessen,died Saturday evening,November 7,1931 at 9:30 o'clock at his home on Aliquippa avenue of complications. While he had been ailing for several years,Mr. Albright was not believed to be critically ill until Friday evening of last week. The family came to Monessen eighteen years ago.  For ten years Mr. Albright served as night Lieutenant of the Monessen police force. He was also employed at the Pittsburgh Steel until five years ago when he was forced to relinquish his duties on account of ill health. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Helen Albright and five children,Hiram Albright and Mrs. Walter Leitch,of Monessen;Mrs. Hunter Wilson of Belle Vernon,Mrs. Ray Strickler and Daniel Albright, of Perryopolis.  Three brothers,Hiram Albright of Myersdale,James Albright of Cleveland and William Albright,of Hollywood,Cal.,also survive, along with fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Albright was a charter member of the Knights of Pythias and the Jr.O.U.A.M. of Lonaconing,Md. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home,in charge of Rev. Wm. M. Schwartz,pastor of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church,and interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
