Obituary

George Sefchok, 90, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, in the Donnell House, Washington. A son of the late George and Anna Hlavaty Sefchok, he was born in Pricedale on May 25, 1924. A resident of Belle Vernon since 1938, George served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and the Belle Vernon American Legion, Post 659. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Anna Mary Sefchok of Belle Vernon and Gina and John Costello of Upper St. Clair; and two grandchildren, Julia and Jack Costello. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Julia M. Fantini Sefchok on Jan. 18, 2014; one sister, Ann Borst; and three brothers, Frank, Samuel and Paul Sefchok. A private blessing service and burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
