George R. Fretz,72,of Bellvue Heights, Dunlevy,died Friday, Feb. 4,1977 at 7:30 a.m. in Mayview State Hospital, Allegheny County. He was born Dec. 13,1903,in Charleroi,a son of the late David and Sadie McKissick Fretz,and was a lifetime Mon Valley resident. Mr. Fretz retired in 1967 from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.after 49 years service. He was a former Dunlevy Borough councilman,having served two terms, a former representative to the Mid-Mon Valley Council of Governments (COG),and a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Charleroi.Surviving are his widow,Bessie Welsh Fretz;one son, Robert of Monessen;two daughters,Mrs. Olive N. Bailey at home and Mrs. Clifford (Jean) Behrendt of Denver,Pa,;one brother,Robert McKissick of Hialeah, Fla,;one sister,Mrs. Edgar (Mildred) Jones of Belle Vernon;three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Harold L. Schrock Funeral Home,226 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,Sunday,Feb. 6 and Monday Feb.7,after noon on both days. Services will be held Tuesday,Feb.8,at 11 a.m. at the funeral home,with Dr. W.S.VanArsdale of the First Christian Church of Charleroi officiating. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Harold L. Schrock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
