George N. Green,92, of 121 Vernon St.,Belle Vernon, died Saturday,Sept. 17,1994,at 2:35 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township. He was born Dec. 11,1901,in Madison,a son of the late John and Dorothy Bainbridge Green. Mr. Green was a member of the Nazarene Church of Belle Vernon,where he was a former elder and board member. He was a former member of Marion Presbyterian Church where he had served as Sunday School superintendent for many years. Mr. Green had lived in Belle Vernon for more than 60 years,moving there from Brownsville. He was former owner and operator of Green's Appliance,with stores in Charleroi and Greensburg. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Boulanger,and a granddaughter,Beth Ann Boulanger, both in 1969;two brothers,Albert and William Green and one sister, Margaret Templeton. Survivors include his wife, Clara E. Long Green; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene R, and Mercy Green of Belle Vernon and Paul L. and Evelyn Green of Bridgeville; three daughters, Mary E. (Betty) Jackson of Charleroi,Mrs. Elroy "Bud" (Margaret) Burr of Anchorage, Alaska and Beverly Glover of Belle Vernon; 16 grandchildren,19 great-grandchildren and four great-great- grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Kohr of the Belle Vernon Nazarene Church officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
